certification certificates to 54 practitioners
The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties has granted 54 health practitioners Saudi specialty certificates in a number of medical specialties. The Board has approved five specialists in the field of psychiatry, 12 specialists in ophthalmology and 22 specialists in family medicine, eight specialists in ear, nose and throat surgery, specialists in the field of plastic surgery, others in the field of dental repair, and three specialists in anesthesia and intensive care.
The Secretary-General of the Commission, Dr. Hussein bin Muhammad Al-Farihi, explained that this certificate is granted by the authority to doctors who successfully completed the training programs stipulated in its regulations, which are no less than four years after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in medicine, which is equivalent to a doctorate in medical specialties.
He added that the certificate qualifies its holder to work as a first specialist in its specialty, and qualifies for the degree of consultant after completing the necessary experience for qualification (three years) and passing the professional evaluation exam by the authority.
Dr. Al-Farihi indicated that the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties offers 38 training programs in various fields ranging from seven years to two years, in addition to the fact that the authority is currently preparing a program for chest diseases in adults and urology in children and forensic medicine, to launch them at the beginning of the new year 2006 AD.
The doctor affirmed that the authority’s programs are equivalent to international programs, stressing that doctors who obtain a certificate of specialization are highly trained and serve the beneficiaries in the first place and is reflected in the progress of the health sector in Saudi Arabia. The two doctors who have a certificate of specialization in the field of dental medicine and repair are: Hala Amin Abdullah Siraj and Khalid Al-Juwaid Salem Baqdim. As for their colleagues who have a certificate of specialization in the field of general anesthesia, they are: Sumaya Muhammad Mahmoud Fallatah, Hatim Muhammad Tahir Abdul Rasul Ham, and in the name of Wali Abdullah Sait.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bandar Ahmed Al-Aythan and Dr. Fatima Suleiman Al-Subhi received a certificate of specialization in plastic and burn surgery. The eight with a certificate of specialization in ENT are: Muhammad Ayed Brik Al-Otaibi, Khalaf Abdullah Al-Anzi, Muhammad Khalid Odeh Al-Juhani, Hadi Effendi Hakami, Muhammad Saad Awadah Al-Ahmari, Ahmed Ali Aqeel Arqabi, Fawzia Rujaidan Al-Otaibi, Zainab Ali Hussein Al-Qudaihi.
Those holding a certificate of specialization in the field of family medicine are: Munira Muhammad Al-Shuaibi, Saad Saeed Habab, Abeer Ayed Al-Harbi, Ola Mahmoud Babli, Hassan Ibrahim Muhammad Al-Ammari, Suheir Abdullah Al-Tayyar, Noura Muhammad Al-Harbi, Sami Abdullah Al-Rehaili, Omar Saud Al-Shammari, Laila Hamoud Sabyani , Alia Hussein Zawawi, Farhan Mutlaq Al-Anazi, Hanan Hassan Al-Mawlid, Bandar Muhammad Al-Juaid, Fawaz Sabian Al-Otaibi, Fahd Khamis Al-Omari, Saad Salem Al-Zahrani, Muhammad Nasr Hassan Khashoggi, Gharam Allah Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Marea Mesfer Al-Shahrani, Muhammad Mabkhoot Moqbel, Maher Ali Saleh The instrument.
