Butcher''s victims

Dr. Saleh Khawaja, a consultant plastic surgeon, gave a glimmer of hope to the families of the victims of a circumcision butcher in Medina that there is the possibility of rebuilding the genitals of the victims'' children again after they reach adulthood. Khawaja told Al-Madina yesterday: It is possible to compensate by performing several plastic surgeries with the participation of a urologist and a consultant plastic surgery, and the implementation of minimally invasive operations in designated operating rooms after children reach the age of 10 years and pass the stage of puberty, until the organ is rebuilt from Through the use of specialized tissues that suit the nature of the genital organ, whether from the arm or the thigh.

Khawaja hinted that the new genital organ could be effective after nerve transplantation, completion of all tissues, and the body''s adaptation to the new organ.

Khawaja indicated that specialized hospitals in the Kingdom perform these types of plastic surgeries, and he diagnosed what happened to the victims that they had undergone a failed surgery that caused gangrene in the genital organ, which caused the entire male organ to be lost due to the lack of mastery of the attending physician to perform the circumcision.
