The meeting is intended for workers in the field of psychosocial health and primary care.
The meeting contains five lectures, which are a lecture entitled (An Overview of Suicide by Dr. Asaad Sabr, a Lecture (Suicide A Local Experience) by Dr. Omar Al-Mudayfer, and (Addiction and Suicide) by Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharqi, (Psychotherapy for Suicide Cases) by Dr. Batoul Al-Helou, and (Treatment) The meeting also includes two workshops, the first dedicated to doctors, entitled (How to assess a patient with suicidal tendencies) by Dr. Nassim Qureshi, and the second one devoted to nursing entitled (How to deal with patients who have suicidal tendencies) presented by Dr. Elham Fayyad, he said. The meeting coordinator, consultant psychiatrist and assistant director of mental and social health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharqi, said that suicide is a global problem, and on the problem of suicide in the Kingdom, Al-Sharqi indicated that there are no accurate statistics on suicide rates in the Kingdom, but according to work in clinics, psychiatric hospitals and public hospitals, suicides do not reach the level of the phenomenon Although there are cases of psychological abuse, especially by young patients, the aim of them may not be to end life and death as much as it attracts attention.
