The Director of the Psychotropic Research Center at Jazan University, Dr. Rashad Al-Senussi, appreciated the role played by a large number of Saudi consultants in educating the community and raising awareness of addiction treatment methods. This came at the conclusion of these preparatory courses in the field of addiction treatment presented by each of the consultant psychiatry and addiction treatment Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Shawoush, and consultant psychiatry and addiction medicine Dr. Abdullah Muhammad Al-Sharqi. Assessment and diagnosis of addictions, in addition to the correct procedures for laboratory testing of narcotic substances.
Their lectures also included curative non-drug and pharmacological interventions as well as basic principles for effective preventive programs. It is noteworthy that these courses come within the center''s plan to confront abuse and addiction to psychotropic substances.
