unknown causes

Dr. Hamad Ali Al-Sufyan, a consultant of obstetrics, gynecology, infertility and IVF at an offspring center, suggested that 50 percent of infertility cases in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf are due to unknown factors, indicating that the environmental impacts surrounding humans in all respects, such as nutrition and the preservatives and chemicals they contain. And polluting have an effect in that situation.

In his interview with Al-Eqtisadiah, Hamad Al-Sufyan said that in addition to changes and instability in the behavior of individuals, men and women, when practicing daily life, lack of exercise, and psychological climatic conditions, they reduce fertility.

Dr. Al-Sufyan added that the need for scientific research at the present time has become more severe than ever before to study the unexplained causes of infertility cases to find out the causes affecting the occurrence of these cases that have increased in the Gulf community. He pointed out that healthy food and proper nutrition pattern from childhood is necessary, in addition to following natural behaviors to practice normal life, regulating sleep and waking times, and exercising in general, plays an important role in future fertility of both sexes.

He said: "Any environmental impact, whatever its source, would cause fertility to decrease in both sexes, which would cause a woman’s ovulation failure and premature menopause, or a decrease in the number of sperms required for a man’s fertilization process to succeed," adding that the awareness aspect It is an important matter in guiding people to eat healthy food from a young age, and that the competent authorities in the Ministry of Education should pay attention to the aspect of school feeding and the importance of providing foods that are beneficial to the health of children and avoiding unhealthy foods that are more harmful than good for them in the future.

The consultant of obstetrics, gynecology, infertility and IVF indicated that the unexplained cases of infertility in the couple are Solomon in all respects, but the causes of contraception are not known and clear. The occurrence or absence of pregnancy first and foremost in the hands of God - glory be to Him - for he is the donor, and working on the causes is a duty so that God writes the success of the spouses in providing them with a newborn. He explained that the pathological causes of infertility cases, whether in women or men, which can be determined through diagnosis and medical examination, all can be treated - God willing - with the difference in the recovery period from one case to another, but the cause is clear and with time it can be controlled and treated, if we know Infertility is the delayed occurrence of pregnancy for a period of 12 months from a normal marital relationship and this is called primary infertility, and if pregnancy occurs and then interrupts the occurrence of pregnancy again it is called secondary infertility.

He said: "The known reasons for not having a pregnancy do not exceed six reasons, and all of them can be treated - God willing - which are: weakness of the ovaries, and it is on degrees, or weak tubes due to blockage or torsion, which is the connection between the ovaries and sperm, or because of a weakness in the uterus." It is forbidden to implantation of embryos due to the presence of antibodies that refuse the adhesion of the fetus or due to fibers, benign tumors, or infections, and there are other reasons such as the lack of animals in the semen or their slow movement or large number of deformation or the presence of other reasons in the marital relationship such as the ability of a man to ejaculate or not. And the fifth reason is shared by spouses.

Dr. Al-Sufyan cited a realistic story that occurred in the United Kingdom, especially in Wales, where the incidence of primary and secondary infertility in women exceeded its percentage in the countries belonging to England, Ireland and Scotland, which prompted the British government to search for the causes of this phenomenon, and they found that the reason is due to eating most of the population Of the fish that live in the river and that the river is contaminated with lead that comes from a remote factory, but one of the tubes of that factory has a defect, and that pollutant leaked from it and made its way to the river. After stopping the factory and treating the river from pollution, the cases of sterility decreased significantly and returned to their normal level.
