not new in the kingdom of humanity

Dr. Assia Al-Rawaf, consultant pediatric surgeon at the Armed Forces Hospital in Riyadh, criticized the media''s interest in the Saudi doctor, describing him as random, underage, not arranged or coordinated. This reproach came from her after her participation last Saturday in the process of separating the Egyptian Siamese twins, "Wala and Alaa," and she said, "The media support for us is absent and not available. We have been in the country for 20 years, and I have been in the country for 11 years as pediatric surgery and I have 25 years in which I practice the profession of medicine and aspects." We do not appear in the media except when there is a scoop or the media needs that.

She said that my specialty in pediatric surgery was at the hands of Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabiah and Dr. Saeed Ahmed from King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center between 1992 and 1994 AD, and I will not hesitate to participate in any operation of this kind.

She pointed out that she is not the first female doctor or the only Saudi surgeon, there are many, and she said, "I graduated from medicine in Riyadh in 1981 and studied abroad for four years, majoring in pediatric surgery, and I can say that I am the first Saudi female doctor in pediatric surgery in Saudi Arabia."

On the need for women to develop in the service of their profession and society as required, Dr. Assia Al-Rawaf said that the Saudi doctor is part of the community and a workshop is present in the country and the support is mainly needed by the state, professors, parents and relatives, and therefore the support was not lacking during my professional life.

With regard to her experience in participating in the operation and evaluating it, Dr. Assia Al-Rawaf said that the experience was distinguished by Saudi competence combined from more than one place, and in this case I learned a lot, since you have a case and you take your decision at the time on the operating table, and it may be contrary to what was before the operation and this is what is surgery What we practice in difficult, important and practical cases was an experience for me, since the quality of the process itself differs from the previous ones and it is not new in the kingdom of humanity, but I have added experience.

She revealed that this is the second time that she participates in the operation of separating the Siamese twins, as she participated in helping Dr. Al-Rabiah 10 years ago during his work in pediatric surgery at the Specialized Hospital, as he was diagnosed in the Armed Forces Hospital, noting that this difficult process represented in the discovery of something contrary to what He was in the examinations before the operation, but the speed of the decision helped not to delay it.

Dr. Assia Al-Rawaf praised Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabiah''s efforts and his keenness to involve Saudi competencies from different health sectors, and this supports the importance of cooperation between Saudi hospitals and doctors, which is always required because this cooperation represents the contribution to the success of work in a better way.

It is worth noting that there are female personnel who participated in this process, such as Dr. Abeer Tashkandi in anesthesiology, Dr. Maha Nujoom, a consultant pediatric radiology, and Dr. Maha Al-Munif, a consultant for children at the King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard in Riyadh.
