1- The first: is to locate the injured part in the lung using this technique under CT scan guidance.

2- The second: Transferring the patient to the operating room and removing the affected part of the lung using a laparoscope. A modern technique that helps to remove a sample from the lung without the need for a large surgical incision in the chest. It is characterized by the ability to accurately remove part of the lung that is to be removed, which helps to avoid removing a large part of the lung and the complications that affect the general lung function. One of the advantages of using this method compared to the surgical incision is the precise removal of the affected part of the lung with the endoscope, which cannot be seen or felt without using this technique. Likewise, a smaller part of the lung is removed for accuracy of target determination using this technique, less surgical pain after the operation, as well as surgical complications after a large incision.

The aesthetic aspect is better by using this technique, as three small incisions with a length of 1 cm are used for the incision compared to the incision, which ranges from 10 to 15 cm.

The thoracic surgery unit at King Khalid University Hospital, King Saud University, is considered the second place in the world after Canada to perform such operations.
