relationship of the tooth''s jaw to the patient''s skull

Dr. Muhammad Taher Bukhari, a member of the faculty at the College of Dentistry, King Saud University, invented a device to measure the relationship of the dental bone to the patient’s skull. The device is made of a transparent plate, in a rectangular shape, about 257 mm long, 160 mm wide, and about 3 mm thick, and this shape includes two protractors for measuring angles. This invention is characterized by its simplicity and ease of use, compared to devices for determining the coordinates required for measurement by means of images using x-rays, and the innovation is characterized by its low cost of manufacture. One of the most benefits that dentists provide is the ease of work, especially with regard to evaluation and analysis of appropriate treatments for patients who suffer from malocclusion of the jaws due to large defects in the teeth or jawbones. Dr. Bukhari obtained a patent from the US Patent Office.
