Epilepsy still maintains a bad reputation among people, even among the educated and educated, and in all civilizations, the Greeks considered it a creation of supernatural powers and divine status, and the patient was washed and applied with perfumes and oils in the temple and performed special rituals to satisfy the gods. Whereas the Jews believed that it was a punishment for the sinners, and the patient had to atone for his sins and ask for repentance.
Many of the rest of the nations believed that it was the result of evil forces such as demons and jinn, and it was treated according to the beliefs of each nation.
And at the present time the emergence of epilepsy constitutes a great dread in the family and they try to hide the matter as much as possible, and they believe either by self or by suggestion or pressure from others that this disease is a result of the jinn wearing a person and we have often seen cases in which the request for medical treatment has been delayed for several years, of course I do not mean by my words not The presence of the jinn or their non-wearing of human beings and the occurrence of epileptic cases as a result of that.

But what I mean and I hope it will reach everyone is that most cases of epilepsy are a result of organic diseases and treatment is available and so that it can be completely cured, God willing. As for the cases of jinn, magic and the eye, they are very few and should not be generalized and made the basis.
Ibn al-Qayyim said: “Epilepsy is an epileptic seizure, one of the evil spirits of the earthly spirits, and epilepsy of bad mixtures. The second is the one in which doctors talk about its cause and treatment.
This results in the necessity of changing the perception of cases of epilepsy and considering it as a disease like other diseases that a person can afflict, such as drowsiness, pressure, etc., and treating him without shame or excessive sensitivity, and then keen to see a specialist doctor immediately for diagnosis and treatment, and this does not contradict the resort to legal ruqyah for those who think it Righteousness.
