Breast Cancer Conference
On February 6, the activities of the "San Antonio of the Middle East" World Conference on Breast Cancer, organized by the Kingdom at the level of the Middle East, will be launched by the Ministry of National Guard. More than 400 doctors, doctors and specialists from local, Arab and international cadres, including 50 lecturers from the most important international researchers in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, will participate in the conference, which will be held for two consecutive days.
The head of the organizing committee for the conference, the consultant breast oncologist in the National Guard, Dr. Umm Al-Khair bint Abdullah Abu Al-Khair explained that the conference, which was approved by the work of 22 hours by the Saudi Commission for Medical Specialties, which coincides with the World Cancer Day, aims to exchange experiences between doctors and specialists, and to see the latest developments in medicine. In the field of breast tumor treatment, as well as the latest research and new working papers presented for the first time in this field.
She indicated that the conference is held with the participation of a group of local and Arab doctors and specialists and many international personalities, and it discusses 25 Arab and international working papers, including 10 Saudi working papers dealing with the latest developments in surgical, chemical, biological, immunological, hormonal and radiological cancer treatment that work to improve cancer care and reach a mechanism that includes plans. Treatment suitable for cancer patients in the Arab world A number of participants in the conference will also work to clarify the situation of breast cancer in the Middle East region, its causes, the best methods of diagnosing it, ways to prevent it, and the mechanism of dealing with discovered cases in appropriate ways.
She said that side meetings, activities and workshops will be held on the sidelines of the conference, the most important of which is the palliative treatment workshop, and a workshop that will be held for the first time on birth control to come out with the most important views of doctors regarding this and its application locally and in the Arab world, especially since this year there will be an important presence represented by the chairperson and members of the organizing committee For the San Antonio USA Foundation Conference held recently in the city of San Antonio Emetti.
Increasing the ability of medical personnel in health units, social service units and health education to detect disease is of particular importance, by educating them on methods of detecting and diagnosing disease signs that may help in detecting the disease in the early stages of infection, as the medical statistics issued by the competent authorities indicate a significant increase In the number of breast cancer cases diagnosed annually in the Kingdom, by 1600 cases. The Kingdom is one of the countries in which the incidence of the disease is lower compared to many Arab, European and American countries. It is also noted that many cases of the disease are diagnosed in the early stages, with a rate of not less than 10-12%.
