Under the patronage of His Excellency the Director of King Abdulaziz University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Obaid Al-Yobi, the Saudi Society for General Surgery organizes its twelfth scientific conference from 19-21 Safar 1440 AH * (27-29 October 2018 AD) at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Committees of the Conference, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society for General Surgery, Dr. Abdul-Malik bin Muhammad Salih Al-Taf, explained that the Saudi Society for General Surgery contributes by holding its specialized conferences in developing the level and quality of health services in our dear country by raising the professional level of surgeons and trainees in the specialties of general surgery, seeking To achieve the leadership''s aspirations towards the Kingdom''s vision 2030 in an effective and innovative health sector that enables improving efficiency, effectiveness, quality and productivity at all levels of service provision.
Dr. Al-Taf stated that the conference will discuss developments in the surgical treatment of tumors * and the latest developments and technical methods in tumor surgeries, as tumors are among the most important causes of death in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in the world in general, while the continuous scientific development in the field of tumor surgery is an important factor in healing patients at will. God is one of those tumors, as it has become possible to permanently treat some types of them using advanced surgical techniques, especially if the disease is diagnosed at an early stage.
Dr. Abdul-Malik Al-Taf added that this specialized scientific conference is distinguished by the presence of a number of prominent surgical scientists, including heads of surgical scientific societies and their leaders in several countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan and Oman. He pointed out that the conference will have the participation of international speakers from the United States of America, France, the Arab Gulf states and the sisterly Arab countries, in addition to distinguished speakers from various parts of the Kingdom in various subspecialties of oncology surgery. Also preceding the start of the conference, on Saturday 27 October, will be the holding of several specialized workshops for surgeons, trainees and students.
Dr. Al-Taf revealed that the society, for the first time, is organizing a public awareness seminar accompanying its scientific conference for women on breast tumors on Monday, October 29th, at the Jeddah Hilton Hotel. During the symposium, specialized doctors will discuss with the attendees several topics, including risk factors, methods of early examination, treatment and rehabilitation.
