Dr. Mahmoud bin Abdul Jabbar Al-Yamani, Acting Executive Director General of King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital, World Sight Day Exhibition 2016 under the slogan "Together is Stronger ... Take the initiative to examine your eyes" which is being held this year in cooperation with the National Committee to Combat Blindness represented by the "Know Your Eyes" team yesterday, Thursday. Wandered d. Al-Yamani inside the exhibition and was briefed on a detailed explanation by those in charge of the participating departments and visited the pavilion prepared to inspect the visitors of the exhibition.
At the end of the tour, Al-Yamani mentioned that the hospital is taking care, and under the direction of the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah on implementing awareness campaigns and participating in international events and the accompanying exhibitions and various activities that seek to promote health and raise awareness among the citizen and resident, take care of eye health and prevent diseases causing blindness. Therefore, the hospital’s participation in the celebration of this global day, which seeks to achieve an initiative. Vision 2020: The Right to Sight ", which is a global initiative launched by the International Agency to Combat Blindness in partnership with the World Health Organization, and seeks to develop programs and plans to reduce avoidable blindness before the year 2020. Dr. Al-Yamani stated that the purpose of participating in this global event is to encourage community members to take the initiative to check their eyes periodically, to avoid potential complications.
Professor Mubarak bin Fahad Al Faran, Secretary General of the National Committee to Combat Blindness and Secretary General of the Saudi Ophthalmology Society, explained the interest of the Ophthalmic Committee, headed by His Royal Highness Prince / Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, to activate the World Sight Day and its slogan (Together is Stronger) with the support of the Foundation Prince Abdul Aziz bin Ahmed the humanitarian, with the distinguished participation of our sons, the team (Know Your Eyes), King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital and King Khalid University Hospital are among 25 activities held in all regions of the Kingdom under the supervision and encouragement of the National Committee to Combat Blindness, directing the appreciation of the Committee to all participants, and today we are pleased to embrace the activities King Khalid University Hospital and King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital, in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Jabbar Al-Yamani, Executive Director-General in charge, all are appreciated for their cooperation to achieve the appropriate goals to serve the eyes of the community, and let us always be stronger together.
