He grew up in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, studied medicine in Cairo and Britain, and worked as a doctor, university professor, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and head of a number of medical councils and societies.

Al-Yamamah, with the guest of the journey, recovers some memories of his tender career.

The upbringing and childhood

In the beginning, what does memory store about childhood as one of the most beautiful stages of life in a person''s life?

I was born in the purest parts of the earth (Makkah Al-Mukarramah) near the Holy Mosque of Mecca in Al-Masa Street, and more precisely in the alley of Sarhat Al-Ful. So if you are in the endeavor, then we moved later from the quest to Al-Zahir neighborhood, and the mother still lives in the villa that the father built there, and I do not remember many things about that childhood except for some memories that refer to the simplicity of living, as there is no electricity from the electricity company and no water from Ain al-Aziziyah Rather, we used to live by the light of lanterns and lamps (atarics), and the water came to us through a person called (Saqqa) who carried on his back the seashell made of tin, and emptied it in basins at home so that we could use it later with the utmost simplicity, happiness and satisfaction.

How was the social bond between families in that period?

It was unparalleled, I remember how the relationship was with the neighbors from the home of Al-Harasani, Radwan and the Azouz family, and how we used to exchange food with them from Rawashin without the need to go down and enter the door of the house, and you would find everyone standing with you in joy or sickness while today, unfortunately, your neighbor does not know about you And if he comes to comfort you, then he sits for ten minutes and then goes while in the past he was sitting with you for three days and opened his prayers and his house and in joy also he used to share with you he and his children with love while today the situation has changed in the age of materialism and the humanities and social relations are no longer that intimate they were in the past.

To study

What about the study stages, starting with the book, if any?

I studied one year in the book, then I joined the Model Primary School in Makkah, and my studies were in the elementary and intermediate levels distributed between Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Jeddah, where I studied in the first years of the primary stage in the model school and then moved to Al-Thaghr Model Schools in Jeddah to complete my studies in the elementary and middle levels, and it was Under the supervision of the late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz,

And it was rightly a model school in which knowledge was taught by distinguished teachers who were strict and serious and were keen to provide us with useful knowledge and education, and the honorable educator, the headmaster of the school at that period, Professor Muhammad Fada - may God have mercy on him - had the merit in taking control of matters, as he managed the school, the teachers and students with the utmost wisdom and balance Also, the school’s style of learning order and order in life was distinctive, and the student’s daily program was an organized program by the hour, and this was reflected in the students ’behaviors and their love for order and the absence of chaos in their lives. It was from the school’s system that whoever fails is separated from it and does not complete it. It led to seriousness and diligence on the part of the students, and by the grace of God Almighty, I did not fail in any year, but I was one of the diligent students.

Who are the most prominent classmates in this school?

Classmates include His Highness Prince Talal bin Mansour bin Abdulaziz, His Highness Prince Khalid bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, His Highness Prince Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsen, Professor Muhammad Mukawar, engineer Abdulaziz Al-Najem, engineer Hani Zahran, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Shazly, and Dr. Khaled Al-Marzouki and other dear friends.

And after graduating from middle school in Al Thager Model Schools in Jeddah?

I returned to Makkah to start secondary school at Al-Azizia Secondary School in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and it was an important period in my life in which I also received sciences at the hands of distinguished professors who had a great deal of education, such as Professor Abdullah Yamani, Professor Hashem Muqibil, Professor Abdullah Bukhari, Professor Fuad Sindi and others, and from Classmates at that stage: His Excellency Dr. Suhail bin Hassan Qadi, former director of Umm Al-Qura University, and Dr. Rabie Dahlan, former deputy of the Emirate of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Dr. Rashad Habib Allah, Dr. Adnan Mufti, Dr. Talal Fadel, Professor Samir Dahlan, Professor Adnan Yamani, and Dr. Sami Hamdi - may God have mercy on him - and Dr. Talal Hamdi, and the relationship between the student and the professor was distinguished based on mutual respect and love between them. The student respects his teacher because he is in the position of the father, and the professor is keen on the student’s educational achievement and guidance from the educational aspect, as the school was rightly complementary to the educational role He is doing home.

Medical student in Cairo

And after obtaining high school from Azizia High School in Makkah, where was the destination?

It was to Cairo, where my desire to study medicine was like my older brother Tariq, who preceded me to Cairo and the father - may God have mercy on him - was keen to fulfill our wishes, and he was willing to send me to Cairo on his own account to study medicine, and in fact it was arranged for my travel there. To join the College of Medicine, and at that time, the College of Medicine at King Saud University was a start, and the father’s fear of studying medicine at that period in a new college was fraught with some caution at the level that it would be, so he said it is better to travel to Cairo and study medicine there and actually left for Cairo and joined the College of Medicine At the University of Alexandria, according to the Coordination Office for Expatriates in Cairo, I spent the preparatory year there with my beloved colleague Dr. Abdel Rahman Makkawi, Professor of Surgery at King Abdulaziz University, who was currently studying there, and then I moved to Cairo to join Ain Shams University with my older brother Tariq. This is the father and mother’s desire to be together in One city (Cairo) so that we can help each other in exile, and my study period in Alexandria was a beautiful period

Alexandria is a beautiful coastal city, and the College of Medicine was close to the sea, and I used to wait for opportunities for periods between lectures and go to sit on the sea and enjoy the view and relax and then return to the lecture hall with a clear mind, and I continued to study medicine until I got my bachelors degree in medicine and surgery from the University Ain Shams in 1975 with a grade of very good.

Early marriage

How much was the flat rent?

It was twenty-five pounds, and when my brother Dr. Tariq and I got married, we moved to Manshiyat al-Bakri in Heliopolis, while I was at the end of the first year of medicine.

What is the story of this marriage that took place at the end of your first year of studies at the Faculty of Medicine, and was it of your parents'' desire and choice?

It was not my desire but rather it was desired and chosen by the parents After passing the first year in medical school, the father and mother wanted me to complete half of my religion (which is marriage), and it was also the desire of my brother Tariq about that. As for me, I did not think much about this issue, but I did not oppose it and under the social procedures in that and the search for newlyweds, it was good Notice that the newlyweds were two sisters who fit the specifications of me and my brother Tariq. The marriage ceremony took place in the summer in the auspicious city of Taif, and over three beautiful and wonderful days, after the marriage ceremony had ended, we traveled to spend the honeymoon in Cairo.

Have you ever seen the wife before the marriage contract?

I only saw her on the night of joy, and the choice, as I told you, was from the family, my brother Tariq. He may have seen his wife. As for me, I only saw her on the night of joy, but God honored me on her. As much as the family described her to me, it appeared much more beautiful than what they described, and the joy was on the surfaces At the father''s house in Taif in a small kosha, where my brother Dr. Tariq and I got married in one night, and the two brides were two sisters who were the daughters of the ambassador, Mr. Talaat Hamdi - may God have mercy on him - so he would see my brother Tariq and sit on the kosha, and after he finished, I looked up and sat in the same kosha. On how many columns include two or three roses, while Kush today is one hundred and fifty thousand riyals.

One hundred and fifty thousand riyals is the price of kosha today?

Yes, I know someone who rented a hall for his wedding night, which is (My Night Hall), which is one of the most luxurious halls in the city of Jeddah, so he changed the floor of the hall and the walls completely to white to match the floor, the sofa and the walls at a cost of up to one and a half million nights. All this is a surplus value that God will judge him, and it was better for him to donate it to the poor and needy and charitable societies.

How much was the dowry? Did any of the singers or singers revive your joy?

I think it was ten thousand riyals and the artist Tuha and the artist Ibtisam Lutfi revived it, and the house was open for three days, which are the days of joy, and it was crowded with well-wishers who used to share breakfast, lunch and dinner with love, sincerity and appreciation, not just attendance to perform the duty for half an hour, and one of them walked as is happening today After I got married, I started a new phase in my life with my wife, who was a wife who appreciated me as a university student building his future. As she did not ask to go out, take a break and a picnic, but rather it was a certain good in my studies, so God rewarded her with all good.

What about the children?

I have three sons and three daughters, they are: Wissam and he works as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University and he is a consultant obesity surgery. He became my colleague at the university and in the private hospital, which is the (Al Mashfa) hospital in Jeddah, and today we were adjacent in the operating room. In Room No. 4, the other son is the engineer Ryan, and he is attending a master’s degree now in Britain, followed by the son Rami, who works in a former company, and now they send him to Canada to complete his education. As for the girls, they (Rasha) hold a master’s degree with distinction from King Abdulaziz University and work as a computer school, followed by ( Maha) and she is a faculty member in the pharmaceutical department at the College of Pharmacy at King Abdulaziz University, and the last of the cluster (Reem) is a graduate of economics and administration, which makes me happy that all of my children have completed their education and are all married.
