A Saudi, Jordanian, Kuwaiti, and Emirati medical team has achieved a medical breakthrough in the field of introducing the latest technology in the world to treat the neck disc by simple intervention for the first time in Jordan and the Arab region.

The achievement was announced during the scientific conference and the medical workshop for treating spinal pain and discus, which started its activities yesterday at the University of Science and Technology Hospital in Irbid, northern Jordan.

The medical team, which is attended by the Interventional Pain Therapy Consultant, Head of the Department of Pain Management at King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah, Dr. Osama Ahmed Al-Ahdal, and the Consultant in Neurosurgery, Dr. Haitham Al-Aqili, performed a surgery with this modern technology.

The operation is based on making two small openings with an area not exceeding one centimeter, and then Hafez implanted a distance from the back side, indicating that these operations were previously performed by implanting a keeper a distance from the front of the neck, and include larger surgeries by passing sensitive tissues that may have major complications in the future. While the use of modern technology reduces the risk ratio to the lowest possible degree and spares patients the possibility of complications.
