Dr. Abdullah Al-Hawsawi One of the most prominent characteristics of successful societies is teamwork and a team spirit that precedes the collective interest over the interest of individuals. Whoever looks at the history of the Kingdom, since its establishment by King Abdulaziz Al Saud, finds a vivid embodiment of the principle of brotherhood and cooperation, and a practical application of the national partnership represented in the engagement of the various regions of the Kingdom, from its north to its south, and from its east to its west, under the banner of the homeland, and its meeting to this great entity called: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This spirit and this trend was and still is one of the most important factors that distinguish this country. Someone may say that this spirit has been offended by some, and I reply to him by saying: This spirit remains and does not die!
I wanted to use this introduction to comment on the recent state of the Saudi health sector.
There is no doubt that the state, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz - may God dress him in the garment of health and wellness - has made the dear and cheap and allocated billions of riyals to develop the health sector in the Kingdom and promote it in line with the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques «The health of the citizen is the most precious and dearest of the nation ».
As a matter of realizing the truth and thanking the virtuous people, we must acknowledge that all the health ministers who commissioned this "heavy burden" to lead this great edifice have made every effort to achieve this royal vision and advance the Saudi health sector. Beginning with Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Al Saud, passing through Dr. Rashad Pharaon, Dr. Hassan Nassif, Dr. Hamid Al-Hersani, Dr. Youssef Al-Hajri, Sheikh Hassan Al-Sheikh, Sheikh Jamil Al-Hujailan, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Khawaiter, Dr. Hussein Al-Jazaery, Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaibi, Sheikh Faisal Al-Hejailan, and Dr. Osama Shobokshi, Dr. Hamad Al-Manea, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabiah, and Engineer Adel Fakih, up to Dr. Muhammad Al Hayaza, the Ministry of Health has gone through more than six decades of development since its inception at the hands of these ministers.
With the impossibility of satisfying everyone, especially in a sector such as the health sector, we must acknowledge the achievements made by these men, perhaps the last of which is the containment of the Corona virus and the absence of diseases and epidemics during the 1435 Hajj season during the era of the Minister-designate, Engineer Adel Fakih.
These successes, with the many challenges and the citizens'' demands for more, would not have happened without the concerted efforts and the work of consultants representing the spectrum of health service providers, as one team to accomplish a specific task or achieve a vital project.
With all the efforts that have been made, and the money spent, we all know that the challenges facing the health sector have not ended, and the aspirations of the leadership and the people from the Ministry of Health are still great.
With all the aforementioned, I think it is absolutely necessary, as a matter of national responsibility, and in order to achieve the supreme goals of the country, to join hands with the new Minister of Health, not for his person, but for what is in the interest of the country and the citizen.
The importance of the next stage and the size of the challenge require us, regardless of our affiliation (and that we are all Saudis), to do the most expensive and cheap in providing advice and advice, implementing projects and completing tasks, including the revival and development of the health service in the Kingdom.
This is a sincere invitation from the heart: Let us do away with our personal affiliations, our tribes, and our localities. Let us belong to the larger entity, which is the homeland. Just as the founder of this kingdom was able to unite many tribes and regions under the banner of a single nation, so we will - God willing - overcome all difficulties if we apply the spirit of one team and one nation.
