His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Asir region, inaugurated the health cooperation services project that took place between the health of Asir represented by 10 hospitals in the region with the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and the Research Center in Riyadh at the Abha Maternity and Children Hospital, where the project included activating a number 4 health cooperation services centers in Asir Central Hospital, Abha Maternity and Children Hospital, Khamis Mushait General Hospital, and Mahayel General Hospital. These centers provide specialized and comprehensive clinics services, diagnostic visits to consultants, blood drawing program, education and training, and patient services offices ( Appointment scheduling, re-dispensing of medicines, issuance of medical reports, dispensing of native food, dispensing of medical supplies), and communicative medicine (technical support, second medical opinion, visual clinics, remote intensive care).
While 6 patient services offices have been activated in Sarat Abidah Hospitals, Dhahran Al Janoub, Balsamar, Al Namas, Rijal Al Maa, Al Majardah, where these offices provide services that include (second local medical opinion, remote intensive care, remote educational activities).
In his turn, His Excellency the Director General of Health Affairs in Aseer Region Khalid bin Ayed Asiri explained that this project had been started to implement it based on the direction of His Highness, the region’s governor, may God protect him, who sought to raise the efficiency of medical services in the region’s hospitals by activating this cooperation with one of the most prominent service providers nationally And regionally, in addition to that these services will contribute to reducing the material and moral costs that the patient and his family may bear.
His Excellency the Director General explained that this cooperation that was inaugurated today was the first stage of the cooperation document between the two parties, as the second phase will include activating several various services, God willing, including a remote heart rate clinic, as well as activating the fertility clinic, IVF and dangerous pregnancy through medicine. The Director General of Health Affairs in Aseer Region thanked His Highness, the Governor of the region for his support for the implementation of this project, which will contribute to providing distinctive quality services to the beneficiaries of health services, and facilitate the benefit from the expertise of distinguished medical personnel, and he also thanked the work team of the specialist hospital for their full cooperation and teamwork the one .
It is worth noting that the project was implemented through the professional project management (PMO) methodology within 36 weeks since the direction of the project sponsor, His Highness, the Emir of the region.
The inauguration was attended by the Assistant General Executive Supervisor of the Specialist Hospital, Dr. Saleh Al-Mofdi, the Deputy Medical Director at the Specialty Hospital, Dr. Hisham Al-Omran, the Assistant Director-General for Curative Services at Aseer Health, Dr. Abdullah Qaddah, the Assistant General Director for Engineering Affairs and Supply Eng. Ibrahim Hateila, and the Director of Abha Maternity and Children Hospital, Dr. Walid Al-Sanafi.
On a related side, His Highness, the Emir of Asir region, reviewed the accompanying Abha Maternity and Children Hospital exhibition, which contains the most prominent surgical achievements that were conducted at the hospital, which include a number of delicate surgeries and specific operations that were performed in the Department of Urology, Reconstructive and Urethral Implants led by Dr. Saeed Maalawi Al Shahrani .
And the department of surgery of scoliosis, spinal deviation and muscular deformities led by Dr. Mahdi Al-Qarni and His Highness witnessed one of the children who was suffering from a severe deviation of the spine, thanks to God, and after an operation for the child is considered one of the qualitative operations, he is now enjoying good health, and the department of surgery of airway deformities led by Dr. Hussein Atoudi His Highness also reviewed a number of achievements in the Cochlear Implant Department led by Dr. Yahya Al-Ahmari.
