The professor of family and community medicine, Professor Faisal Abdul Latif Al-Suleiman Al-Nasser, warned of negligence in dealing with cases of depression, isolation, complaints of children, young people, and the adolescents'' category of persistent headaches that have spread significantly in the past period in clinics and health centers, pointing out that the neglected aspect on the part of parents is child justice Long periods of playing (Play Sitish) games and their various electronic games models on mobile phones, which represent one of the most important reasons for their psychological deterioration.
In a statement to Al-Bilad, Professor Al-Nasser said in response to a question about the widespread complaint of many citizens and residents of depression and isolation among children, by saying that the most clear and widespread case is the complaint of constant fatigue accompanied by types of headaches, in addition to parents noticing feelings of depression in their children, explaining In this regard, this category, i.e. children, adolescents and adolescents, are more lively and active at this age, but the mental effort they spend in playing electronic games and spending long hours in front of screens deprives them of other natural activities such as studying, performing duties, spending time of fun and developing ideas And physical movement and sports, and the risk becomes more severe as we have noticed and many parents have noticed that this group becomes completely isolated due to the long time in electronic games, and with the passage of time, this leads to a higher risk of the child developing a mental disorder, as well as a type of depression, one of whose features is isolation. Continuous abstinence from food, which may lead to malnutrition, as well as a decline in the level of academic achievement and a poor relationship, either Within the framework of the family or society, the risks increase to reach suicides, as happened in some dangerous games that spread among children, and some countries recorded cases of them.
Regarding the extent of parents'' awareness of these dangerous aspects, Professor Al-Nasser replied by saying: “Unfortunately, many of these problems are caused by the parents, directly or indirectly! For example, until the child develops his perception, he asks and inquires, which makes some parents who do not have the ability to bear these questions comfortable when they leave the child preoccupied with electronic games, but this is one of the reasons that lead to the child being isolated with these games.
Regarding the steps that parents can take to protect the children, he stressed the need to (legalize) the time allowed to play electronic games, we do not say (prevent) completely because the child can access them through different media, but gives reasonable time with follow-up as well as activating the family side at home with activities Sharing between family members, and involving children in social programs, the child does not realize his warning of the dangers of these games, as he does not know the meaning of depression or isolation, but in a (sweet) and appropriate way, parents must give the child appropriate information by practicing joint activities and doing beautiful things Prevents the risk of addiction to electronic games.
