Jeddah: "Asharq Al-Awsat" Evidence-based physiotherapy has become the best and correct way to practice the medical profession, and it is nothing but the integration of individual (clinical) clinical experiences with the best associated evidence available from structured research. The book "Profiles on Evidence-Based Medicine" issued by the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council states defined it as "the sincere, clear and judicious use of the best current evidence in decision-making regarding patient care", based on regular review and evaluation and the systematic use of clinical research results. Scientific to help provide optimal clinical care for patients.

Physiotherapy, as one of the branches of medicine, is practiced according to scientific evidence, evidence and research results. In order to clarify this principle, which has grown in the past few years, seminars and conferences should be held to keep medical workers in general and workers in the field of rehabilitation in particular aware of the methods of integrating the best available medical interventions when there is acceptable evidence of its effectiveness to provide the best levels of health care at the lowest cost to patients.

The fall of the elderly Dr. Ahmed Yassin Barhamin, a consultant physiotherapist and director of the rehabilitation center at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and president of the Saudi Society for Physical Therapy in the Western Region, explained in his study that he presented at the "International Conference on Evidence-Based Physiotherapy" established by the Saudi German Hospital In Jeddah, in cooperation with King Abdulaziz University and the Saudi Society for Physical Therapy, 30% of elderly people fall every year, and the deaths are about half due to falls because the fracture is often in the pelvic bone, and this for the elderly causes excruciating and severe pain and some of them cause disability That lead to death.

For the elderly, fracture hinders his movement and the performance of any activity and may make him bedridden and vulnerable to many diseases that are considered dangerous and debilitating for his ilk.

To solve these problems, many types of preventive treatments have become available, such as examining eyesight, measuring the muscle strength of the elderly, measuring the level of balance, and doing some exercise.

Exercises, and it has been found that exercise has an effect in cases of falls in the elderly. First, it is necessary to determine the types of factors that lead to the fall, and then try to address them.

The first factor: It is an internal factor, and it deals with examining vision, tightening the muscles of the body and improving the level of balance, such as practicing yoga and others, which strengthen the muscles of the body. This factor is what we can control because lack of balance, loss of consciousness and lack of good vision all lead to falls and the inability to control and control movement.

The second factor: It is an external factor that cannot be controlled, such as having a high threshold, very smooth floors, or wearing high-heeled shoes ... etc. It has been found from several research and studies that there is a strong and positive relationship between sport and falls. For example, in the United States, it was found that through group exercise, the incidence of falls for the elderly decreased by 30%. As for Saudi Arabia and the Arab countries, we still have a very great need to work out statistics to know the number of falls per year. Attention until now is focused on clinical aspects only and not being interested in knowing how it fell or the extent of its injury.
