The medical center "is based on the Madinah Hospitals Complex, which was approved by the Council of Ministers to convert 3 hospitals in Medina (General Hospital, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Children Hospital, Al-Amal Complex for Mental Health) into a medical city as the first integrated city to serve the region with a capacity of 1246 beds.
His Highness, the Governor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region, viewed the hospitals and facilities of the Medical City, then watched a visual presentation of all the medical departments and their various services provided to beneficiaries at the level of the region. The city will provide many specialized medical services, including a neuroscience center, a tumor center, and a diabetes center. A cardiac center, a medical rehabilitation center and a research center, as well as emergency services and outpatient clinics.
His Highness also examined the hospitalized admission wards for patients at King Salman Medical City Hospital, as well as the intensive care department, operations, the interventional radiology suite, and other various specialized facilities. His Highness was accompanied on the inspection tour by the Mayor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Chief Executive of the Zone Development Authority, Engineer Fahd bin Muhammad Al-Balaihishi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Madinah Health Cluster Dr. Mahmoud bin Abdul Jabbar Al-Yamani, and a number of officials in the region.
