Research Conference at "KFSH&RC"
The Executive Director of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Dr. Rashid Al-Rashed Al-Hamid, inaugurated the “Sixteenth Annual Conference for Surgery Research”, which included the presentation of (45) research papers for arbitration with the aim of improving medical research, after which (3) doctors won cash prizes for the excellence of their research.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Jarman, Consultant and Head of the Plastic Surgery Department at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, explained that this year’s Surgery Research Conference discussed (45) papers presented by surgical residents, fellows at the hospital and a number of other hospitals from the Kingdom’s regions, in addition to Students of the College of Medicine at Al-Faisal University focused their topics on the latest developments in surgery in its various specialties with the aim of deepening the spirit of competition and communication in the fields of scientific research between physicians residing in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and other hospitals in the Kingdom.
Dr. Al-Jarman said: We have (23) research published in various international refereed scientific journals in 2015, six research projects have been completed, and (18) surgical research projects have been approved, and the research published in international refereed scientific journals reached during the first, second and third quarter of the year. In the current year 2016, (27) research and (36) new research projects have been approved, and a lot of research has been presented at international medical conferences, usually a source of pride and pride for the General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center and for the Department of Surgery in the hospital.
This year''s conference witnessed the participation of Dr. Talib Khafaji, a consultant and head of the Mental Health Department at King Fahd Medical City, who gave a lecture entitled "Good Dealing in the Medical Work Environment".
And he was awarded the best resident doctor, Dr. Yasser Al-Nimri, and Dr. Ghada Al-Khalifa, while the best trained doctor was awarded to the best trained doctor, consultant breast and gland surgery, Dr. Amal Al-Hafzy.
