The Royal Commission in Jubail, represented by the Health Services Program, was able to perform 188 interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization unit, varying between diagnostic cardiac catheterization operations, therapeutic interventional catheterization operations, and urgent interventional catheterization operations for acute myocardial infarction patients, during the past three months at the Royal Commission Hospital in Jubail.
For his part, Dr. Raed bin Ayyad Al-Qatchan, consultant cardiology and interventional catheterization in the health services program, confirmed that the cardiac catheterization unit provides advanced medical services, as the department is the nucleus of an integrated center for cardiology that includes all devices and units that provide a high-quality health service in this important and vital specialty.
The doctor also explained that its operation constitutes a qualitative leap for heart patients in the industrial city of Jubail in terms of diagnosis and treatment, as the unit receives all chronic and emergency heart conditions and treats chronic and acute coronary heart diseases through the diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization of coronary arteries.
Dr. Al-Qatchan added that the unit was designed according to high specifications and standards, applies advanced sterilization procedures, works to avoid transmission of infection between patients, and provides outstanding follow-up after operations until the patient''s condition stabilizes and he begins his normal life.

The unit includes a department for intensive care before and after the catheterization in which the patient is prepared before entering for the catheterization work and is cared for after the catheterization process.
