of the population suffers from spondylolisthesis and "scoliosis".
Dr. Khaled Al-Saleh, Associate Professor at the College of Medicine at King Saud University and a consultant orthopedic and spine surgeon at Dallah Al-Nakhil Hospital, stated that herniated discs, spondylolisthesis, and scoliosis are prevalent in the local community with a rate of 15-20% of the population, and the symptoms of these cases may not become apparent until after they reach to a critical stage It is useful as one of the most common diseases in the spine.
Al-Saleh recommends consulting specialists from consultants who are highly specialized in spine surgery when back pain occurs in the thighs and legs - one or both - for a period of more than six weeks.
With regard to the treatment of these cases, "Al-Saleh" stated that the majority of these cases - in their infancy - respond to conservative treatment, which consists of physical therapy and some analgesics for a limited period. As for advanced cases - and cases that do not respond to conservative treatment - they need surgical treatment, which has become advanced. It has excellent results and a very short sleep duration, from one to three days, for more than 90% of cases.
He added: "We have been performing all cases of disc herniations, roughness in the neck and back, simple and complex spondylolisthesis, and scoliosis in Dallah Hospital, with the latest technology and the lowest percentage of complications, for many years, praise be to God."
Al-Saleh stressed the importance of healthy habits to prevent the development of such problems by maintaining physical activity, performing regular sports, and maintaining a healthy weight.
