Confronting Corona and its modifications depends on societal awareness
The Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Hospitals, Professor of Public Health, Professor Tawfiq Ahmed Khoja, confirmed that confronting Corona and its modifications is not limited to the health and concerned authorities concerned, but also depends on community awareness.
Khoja called on members of society not to be lenient with precautionary measures, to take the initiative to take both doses of vaccination and booster immunization, and to preserve the achievements made in the fight against the Corona virus.
And he indicated to "Okaz" that, thankfully, we have passed an important stage in confronting Corona, and we have made great strides in surrounding and besieging the virus, but the current stage and with the emergence of the new mutant "Omicron" is one of the most important stages in confronting Corona, as the matter is still dependent on community awareness, and any violation of the requirements health, we will go backwards again, so the best advice is not to be lenient, and to implement health directives.
He said that taking the necessary preventive vaccinations and the booster dose is part of the plan to confront Corona, but of course it does not mean the end of the pandemic and not wearing a muzzle or applying physical distancing, as the risk is still present and has not ended, whether at the local or global level.
He continued: The current stage, with the lifting of many restrictions, came after the positive indicators whose heroes were community members in implementing community awareness programs, but now with the spread of the mutated "Omicron", precautionary steps must be taken and avoiding inaction, lack of leniency, and positive participation in trapping the Corona virus.
Khoja called on members of society to preserve the gains made in confronting the Corona pandemic, stressing that this could not have been achieved except by the grace of God and then by their commitment and with continuous support and generous efforts from the wise leadership that made the health and safety of the citizen first and foremost, all countries of the world are still facing many problems. The challenges are going through a very difficult period, and it is imperative for everyone to deal seriously with the developments of the pandemic and to take care to adhere to health precautions, especially wearing a mask, social distancing and hand hygiene, all of which contribute significantly to preventing the Corona virus and its mutations and limiting its spread to preserve the health and safety of all members of society, asking May God preserve everyone and perpetuate the blessing of health and wellness.
