destroying values

Consultants warned against the content provided by some celebrities, pointing out that it may represent a departure from norms and the text and lead to the destruction of values, especially among young children and adolescents who consider these people as their role models and seek to imitate them and are keen to follow their news around the clock. They stressed the necessity of monitoring children and promoting social values. Emphasizing to them that the world of social media is an imaginary, illusory, and foggy world.

To begin with, the health expert and family and community medicine consultant, Professor Tawfiq Ahmed Khoja, says that the world of social media has unfortunately become frightening because of the low content it contains, which is far from useful content. He pointed out that most of what celebrities put forward, unfortunately, includes content that negatively affects children, young people, and teenagers. The problem increases even more when the content is outside the text, is not useful, and does not carry any educational, comedic, or educational message.

Khoja called on parents to guide their children and emphasize to them that the world of social media is a big world and a double-edged sword in which there is benefit and harm, and they should not rush behind what is broadcast by many celebrities who have used social media sites as a means of gaining fame and money.

Running after celebrities

In the same context, consultant psychiatrist Muhammad Ijaz Barasha considered the world of social media to be frightening, while the biggest problem facing most families nowadays is the isolation of children towards this imaginary world. Unfortunately, some children waste most of their time following these celebrities and their daily programme, leaving all responsibilities behind them. Other social issues, and we can imagine what a negative impact it will have on children and generations when the content is low, ridiculous, and meaningless.

Pracha stresses the need to direct children towards useful things on social media platforms, and avoid wasting time following celebrities.

independence of ideas

Pediatric consultant Dr. Nasr al-Din al-Sharif agrees with the previous opinions and says: With the emergence of social networking sites in the world, the spread of the category of celebrities has increased remarkably. They are people who are followed by millions of community members, so they have become influential even if what they offer is ridiculous and low-key, and the majority’s goal is to make money. And the sweep of fame, and when teenage children are influenced by celebrities, they go through several stages, which are: the viewing stage, the second is continuing to follow and excessive attachment, the teenager’s imitation of the famous person who has been influenced by him, obsession, and finally the difficulty of giving up following the famous person, and Al-Sharif continues: The abundance of social media celebrities without... Censorship of their content takes away the identity of the child and makes him an obedient tool for their actions. This is why the role of the family comes for children and preventing them from viewing non-purposeful content, with the necessity that prevention not be done through violence and repression, and to prevent the negative effects of following social media celebrities. Al-Sharif concluded by saying: The guardian must cultivate In the child dependence and self-confidence, and to be independent in his thoughts without succumbing to external influence, and to be independent in his life and not follow and imitate others, which is what is called in psychology as (the emotion of astonishment), which is for the child to be amazed at everything, and to follow others in their behavior And their clothes and thinking, and he must be unique in his actions and choose his necessities without anyone interfering.
