People who suffer from Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Orofacial Pain present a complex collection of symptoms, which include, but are not limited to the following:

Clicking, popping or grinding noises in the jaw joint (TMJ)

Jaw locking

Headaches

Jaw, Facial, Ear, Mouth, Neck, Head or Shoulder Pain

Although these symptoms may come and go because they can be related to periodic stress or minor injuries, they may also be caused by more serious illnesses and injuries and worsen over time if left untreated.

Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain can mimic other medical and dental problems, some of which could be quite serious. Therefore, Dr. Crandall uses a detailed medical and dental history and may use digital imaging in the diagnostic process. Dr. Crandall provides conservative, non-surgical treatment approaches including custom-made mouth or oral appliances (splints), physical therapy, therapeutic injections, behavior modification and medications as needed. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain.
