Academic and societal circles welcomed the decision of the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa, to appoint Professor Dalal Mohiuddin Namangani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Taif University, in one of the turning points that gives women more strength, competence and power in leadership positions that give them more confidence in serving their homeland and her nation

The ion of Professor Dalal Mohiuddin Namangani as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Taif University is in line with the 2030 vision launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in one of the transformations that will place the Kingdom and its sons and daughters on the ladder of priority.

He said: Professor Dr. Muhammad Deeb Eid, who was a former dean of the Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, is a successful step and a ministerial decision that transforms concepts of development and the ability of Saudi women to be leaders of medical colleges and other colleges. Science is indivisible between a man and a woman.

Here, Professor Abdel-Prof. Dalal Namangani holds this high position, which will be the first to lead Saudi women to other colleges.

Dr. Sahar Al-Sebhani, a political scientist and community activist at neighborhood centers, said

Yes, it is a decision that embodies the status of Saudi women with a guardian under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, referring to the decision that came at a time Saudi women are looking to be partners with men in building and development

He said: Media advisor Abdulaziz Abdul Ghafoor Al-Andijani said that women remain an important axis in development work, especially in the fields of medicine and medical sciences, and that Professor Dalal Mohiuddin Namangani has devoted her time and age to serve this human aspect through several positions.

Al-Andijani described Professor Dalal Mohiuddin Namangani as the ambassador of science and scholars and the ambassador of will, determination, ambition and challenge.

He praised the decision of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, who took an unprecedented step for transferring women to leadership positions to participate in the service of this country dear to everyone''s hearts.

Al-Andijani congratulated Professor Dalal Mohiuddin Namangani, who has proven that merit in science does not stop at the limits of men or women, but rather is participation in the model of building and development and reaching the true position of this country and in line with what Islamic Sharia affirmed in the contribution of women to work and responsibility.

Mamdouh Sobhi, chief cardiologist at King Fahd General Hospital in Jeddah, considered that the decision to appoint Professor Dalal Namangani would be a step followed by steps in overcoming the obstacles that prevented women from being in a leadership position in Saudi universities, pointing to his aspirations that there will be another decision in the future that enables women Saudi Arabia to be the director of the university

He stated that the decision to choose a Saudi woman to be the dean of the College of Medicine is the first sign towards asserting that women still have the ability to lead a nation and not a college, and she is always the sponsor in the educational institution from the family to her work and achievements.

Newspapers and websites had recently published what Saudi women had recorded in the first new and important step in their path towards career advancement, this time in the academic sector, after the decision of the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa, to appoint Professor Dalal Muhyiddin Namangani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University Taif.

After the ministerial decision was officially issued, Dr. Namangani became the first dean of a college that includes faculty members and students of both sexes in public universities in the Kingdom, after appointment to the position of deanship was limited to men, while the administrative ladder of academies within colleges stops at the limits of the position of deputy dean.

No Saudi academy has previously held the position of dean in any of the public universities in the Kingdom, with the exception of Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University, which is a private university for women, in addition to occupying academies with the same position in private colleges and universities.

Informed academic sources told “Sabaq” that the decision to appoint the new dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Taif University was based on the criteria of merit and scientific and practical competence, and their preference for the gender difference between faculty members in the college, confirming that the decision is consistent with the directions of the Kingdom''s vision (2030) in support Women''s participation in the labor market, enhancing their role in the government and private sectors, and empowering them at work.

The same sources noted the importance of the decision, as it opens the door wide for female faculty members in various public universities in the Kingdom to apply for higher academic positions in the future, and to break the limited employment deadlock within the walls of women''s departments in colleges and the female section in public universities.

The sources linked the decision to appoint a dean for the Faculty of Medicine at Taif University and the developmental steps that the university has witnessed since the appointment of Dr. Hussam bin Abdul Wahhab Zaman as its director, which was a first for its implementation before the rest of the universities followed, and included restructuring the university agencies and reducing them from six to four agencies, Empowering a large number of young people to lead administrative positions and development projects, based on the competency standard, and creating the first cultural affairs department, the first of its kind in all Saudi universities.

The sources pointed out that, since the appointment of Dr. Zaman, the university launched many important programs and projects, most notably the “Programmatic Transformation” program, which aims to develop all its academic programs, as well as develop all study plans, to ensure the extent to which quality requirements, academic accreditation and compatibility with the labor market are met. And to improve the quality and efficiency of these programs, and the "Daem" project to encourage new faculty members to contribute to scientific research.

She noted that Taif University emerged as the first university to initiate the restructuring of the preparatory year and arrange its programs in line with the needs of each college on the one hand and the developments in the public education sector on the other hand, in addition to its firm handling of the manifestations of violence and negative behavioral manifestations on the campus. This approach followed later by several universities.

The sources also suggested that the decision to appoint Professor Dalal Namangani as Dean of the College of Medicine will pave the way for rearranging the administrative structures between the male and female students at the university, especially in light of the director of the university, Dr. Zaman, to reduce administrative slack, strengthen the principle of “lean management”, and unify work bodies to reduce Of duplication.

What supports this approach is the granting of the colleges and their departments greater powers to lead the educational process in the right direction, and the creation of a communication and support unit for the university president’s office in the female section, which allowed direct communication by the university’s employees and students with the university’s president.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Dalal Namangani''s CV shows that she holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB) from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah in 1991, and holds seven fellowships in pathology, cells and histology, as well as her membership in many scientific societies.

Dr. Namangani began her career in the year 1991 - 1992 working as a trainee doctor at the Faculty of Medicine at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah and then moved between many jobs within the same medical college, then at Al-Hada Military Hospital and King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital in Taif, before settling down at the University of Taif, starting in the year 1432 AH, as Assistant Professor of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Taif University, until recently, I obtained a scientific promotion to the rank of professor (professor).

Namangani, a consultant in histopathology and anatomical pathology, worked in addition to her work as a member of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Medicine at Taif University, assigned dean for university studies at the same university, which is the highest position in the university for the female section, before her appointment to her new position.
