With the participation of a group of distinguished doctors and consultants, Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital will organize, on Saturday, the "World Asthma Day" event. Dr. Muhammad Majid Barzanji, Consultant Chest Diseases Allergy and Asthma at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, explained that the event will include discussion of many research and studies on asthma and how to control it, in addition to holding many lectures.
He added that the main goal of holding the event is to work to increase community awareness of this disease, especially since there are about 1.5 million asthma sufferers in the Kingdom, and the cost of treatment is estimated at about one billion riyals annually, and asthma cases have increased by 300% in the last decade.
The organizers of this event will also introduce the community to asthma, how to treat it, the relationship of asthma to dust and smoking, the main causes and ways to block it, as well as the most prominent discoveries in asthma.
The event will also include an agenda for elite speakers in this field to clarify ways to secure precautions and safety methods that reduce the spread of this disease between young and old, and in this regard it will review the experiences of many international hospitals and centers specialized in treating such diseases in addition to many workshops. Which will be held during the day of the event, as well as extensive discussions about the most prominent modern treatments in the field of asthma.
