In the presence of a large number of children, mothers, members of the board of directors and members, the "Kayan Association for Orphans" with special circumstances celebrated the "Spring Kian" festival at the association''s headquarters on Saturday 17 March 2018 corresponding to Jumada Al-Thani 29, 1439 AH. Ms. Samha bint Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, welcomed the guests, orphan children, ordinary children and their mothers, and the festival, which aims to bring community members closer, integrate orphan children with ordinary children, and provide health awareness to children by learning by the children themselves and giving the child self-confidence and ability to cast And interaction through the workshops and enabling effective discussion and dialogue in the health field. Educational programs through play have been set up for children through pre-studied and tested workshops on a group of children of the association who implement them in front of everyone.
The children also implemented through the workshops: how the colors overlap and its psychological impact and the joy that is gained from knowledge and the joy they gain. They used scraps of cloth to form very beautiful art forms and a number of designs and linked them to health aspects. The festival included a special dental room supervised by the health programs coordinator at King Abdullah Hospital, "Dima Al-Issa" from "My Childhood My National Initiative", where she explained about the anatomical definition of teeth by drawing - and how Preserving the teeth, then she talked about healthy food - introducing children to the correct way to clean the teeth, examining their teeth and giving them a health certificate. In another aspect of the festival, the face painting center by designer Suzan Al-Shaibani and the team work, where children gathered around them, choosing the characters they loved to paint on their innocent faces. The kids were delighted with those adorable cartoons. Mrs. Suzan said: I am very happy with my support for the Kian Spring Festival, and it is indeed a spring blooming with the presence of these innocent faces of children. I thank the association for its great work and the many achievements it is doing to empower orphans and build their personality.
The festival also included a lecture for mothers entitled "How to deal with children and motivate them to reach success in science and work" given to them by Dr. Najwa Mansour Jawharji, consultant pediatric dentist, "working member" of the "Kayan" Association for Orphans with Special Conditions, where she urged mothers not to talk about topics Negative and frightening in front of children, because it negatively affects their psyche and then their personality. She also made clear that excessive attention is like excessive negligence, and it is necessary to try to reach moderate interaction with children. She indicated the need to leave a space for the child to rely on himself and a space to know his abilities and make him think and produce. And not to compare it with other children or peers and his psychological frustration, and indicated that indirect speech positively affects the child more than direct speech to him, and if we want the child to do something special, let us talk with someone else in an interesting way so that the child imitates this positive action, and indicated that the first Seven years of a child''s life in which 90% of the child''s personality is formed. Let us all pay attention to that.
Ms. Amal Bint Ali Al-Ghamdi, the Supervisor of Childhood Training at the Ministry of Education, intervened and indicated in her intervention that the child, upon entering kindergarten, the most important thing that his teacher can focus on is: How to solve his problems by himself and how to choose and bear the result of his choices and there must be safety and security for the child, this is very important, indicating that Children are the basis of society and the pillars and pillars on which societies will be established later, so they must be taken care of from a young age. Then there was a meaningful discussion that enriched the information.
Then Dr. Noura Al-Daham, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology from King Saud Medical City, welcomed everyone and said, "God bless me, if I succeeded with the knowledge of the association and gave instructions for health and after Hajj to the orphans of the association who went for Hajj and I still open WhatsApp and answered the inquiries received from the association regarding Hajj and health matters."
