Dr. Othman Al-Omar: A person often experiences many simple symptoms in his eyes and eyes, but they do not threaten the loss of vision or part of it, such as the feeling of itching or redness in the eye with slight pain, and slight blurred vision and all these symptoms may be benign causes and do not threaten to lose vision. The dangerous symptoms that you should watch out for are as follows:

The presence of severe eye pain with a headache on the same side of the head with the presence of nausea, this indicates the possibility of ... acute glaucoma.

Sudden loss of vision, with the inability to distinguish colors in one or both eyes, may indicate severe infections of the optic nerve.

A part of the visual field is lost, as if there is a black curtain in any part of the field of vision. This may precede seeing many flying flies and flashes of light in the same eye, as it may indicate retinal detachment or a disorder of blood vessels.

If a person has undergone an intraocular operation several days ago, such as (cataract operations, glaucoma operations or corneal transplantation) or so, and then feels a severe lack of vision, and this may be accompanied by swelling of the upper eyelid and eye pain, then it is necessary to review the emergency clinics immediately for the possibility of Microbial infection inside the eye and should be treated immediately.

When there is severe eye pain with redness in the eye, especially for contact lens users, there may be a corneal ulceration.
