The Health Education Committee launched an awareness campaign for people with diabetes and their families, on the sidelines of the celebration of the World Diabetes Day in the Kingdom, which is supervised by the Tamer Group, in cooperation with the Friends of Diabetics Society in Jeddah, King Abdulaziz University Hospital and the Ministry of Health in Jeddah Governorate, with the participation of many neighborhood centers Association and Dr. Suleiman Fakih, the Moroccan and the International Medical Center
Ayman Tamr, Chairman of the Tamer Group and CEO of the Health Education Program, emphasized that this campaign comes within the framework of the Kingdom''s concern and care for its citizens and their awareness of diabetes, and within the framework of the activities and activities that officials give to diabetes and awareness of its dangers, as well as educating healthy people about this disease, which is about to become an epidemic Among the Saudi people.
He added: The committee responsible for diabetes awareness and charged with overseeing and organizing the campaign held its main meeting in the presence of: Mr. Mohamed Tamer, Vice Chairman of Tamer Group Board of Directors, Dr. Ali Al-Ghazzawi, Social Responsibility Specialist at Tamer Group, Dr. Sami Eid, Director of Health Affairs for Primary Health Care Dr. Hana Al-Ghamdi, the coordinator of Diabetes in Jeddah at the Ministry of Health, Professor Ahmed bin Ibrahim Mirza, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Biology Centers in Jeddah, Dr. Shadia Matbouli, Consultant in Community Medicine at the University Hospital, Professor Hanan Sarhan, supervisor of the Diabetes Friends Association in Jeddah, and Professor Taha Muhammad Kasbah - Director Editing of Diabetes Journal - the media sponsor of the campaign.
The campaign activities were organized on 28 and 29 November 2011 from 4:30 in the afternoon until 9:00 in the evening at the level of Jeddah in each of the following locations: Neighborhood centers in Jeddah Al-Naseem neighborhood. East of Jeddah, Al-Musfat neighborhood, south of Jeddah, Al-Naim neighborhood North of Jeddah, Al-Samer district. East of Jeddah and the health centers of the Ministry of Health. As the organization of the meeting included awareness lectures for citizens and residents, as well as conducting diabetes tests and distributing educational leaflets about diabetes among the attendees, as well as publications on diabetes.
