Minister

There are legacies that are endemic to societies so that they become a part of them despite their danger and negativity. Perhaps among the most prominent of these matters are issues related to domestic violence and bullying of all kinds and forms. This problem is not confined to Saudi Arabia, but it exists in many societies around the world, but for a long time there remained an issue that was "prohibited" or defended as part of customs, traditions and religious heritage, and "certain" interpretations are being cited that serve to justify domestic violence with wives and children. And other members of the family and the phenomenon of bullying in general, linking all of this as a "religious matter" and a "defense of honor, honor and authentic Arab morals." Of course, all of this falls under the clause of slander, because this clearly contradicts the actual Sunnah of the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who was nothing but compassionate, gentle and gentle, and neither the word nor the hand was taken into consideration. At the local level, the great credit for combating bullying and addressing the phenomenon of domestic violence goes to the courageous Dr. Maha Al-Munif, who is a physician, who has a doctorate in medicine and surgery, and is also the CEO of the National Family Safety Program, and has enormous interests, posts, writings and lectures on domestic violence and violence against children as well. She is also a member of the Arab Network for Child Protection from Abuse and the Committee for Victims of Domestic Violence. Maha Al-Munif is a vivid and realistic example of the ability of Saudi women to change and the art of the possible in impossible conditions. She worked boldly, sincerely, and focused on one goal, which is to raise the society''s awareness in the face of a catastrophic situation and the phenomenon of violence that has spread. Violence, along with militancy, beatings and a culture of hate all lead to extremism and terrorism. Maha succeeded in raising awareness, and provided a safety and protection network, such as shelters, contact numbers, and specialized counselors, all of which contributed to finding solutions to problems that could have turned into tragedies.

A culture in which there were articles in which sentences such as “hitting Zaid Ahmed” were repeated, in which it would be natural for cultural, social, economic and religious bullying to emerge. All of this was pouring into Dr. Maha Al-Munif''s project, and he was the one who made her in 2014 the award for the bravest woman in the world well-deserved. Her award is former US President Barack Obama. Maha Al-Munif never lost this goal, even when life bullied her, she valiantly resisted and continued. Through these lines, it was suggested to the King Faisal Prize that its prize for service to Islam be given to Dr. Maha Al-Munif, because she provides a true model in fighting ignorance and aggression from the land of the Two Holy Sanctuaries, and this is a message to the whole world about the new Saudi Arabia that is changing. I cannot find more capable of her than assuming the Ministry of Health or Social Affairs, which both have great challenges that make a leader like Dr. Maha Al-Munif better able to face that. Proud of belonging to a country where Dr. Maha Al-Munif.
