• I noticed an increase in some kilograms in Ramadan despite fasting, and this was reflected in the appearance of the rumen in a remarkable way. I wonder: why did I gain weight and the rumen appeared, and it was supposed to be the opposite?
Consultant of Family and Community Medicine in Jeddah Health, Dr. Khaled Obaid Bawaked, answers saying:
There is a main reason for your weight gain in Ramadan and the appearance of the rumen remarkably, which is that you did not engage in any kind of sports activity during Ramadan that burns your fat and calories, and the food you eat at breakfast seems to be fatty and includes fats and oils such as fried foods and others, the period since iftar And until Suhoor, you did not witness any activity to burn fat and thus accumulate fat and calories because there is no outlet for them, and the problem increases more if the individual sleeps immediately after meals, and this in itself helps with lethargy, laziness and weight gain, so the best thing I advise you to do is to subject yourself to a sports and nutritional program After Ramadan, under medical supervision, to get rid of the extra weight that showed the rumen and does not correspond to your height.
