Meanwhile, the official spokesman of the Jeddah Municipality, Muhammad Al-Baqmi, confirmed to “Al-Bilad”, stopping the provision of shisha and honeycomb in cafes and restaurants, and stopping musical concerts in restaurants temporarily until further notice as a precautionary measure in order to preserve the health of citizens and residents from the new Corona virus, according to a decision by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs. Indicating that the secretariat will follow up on the field restaurants and cafés, and in the event of a violation of the provision of honey, it will be withdrawn immediately and the violating facility closed. Specialists in family and community medicine considered that the decision of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs is positive aimed at the public interest in order to preserve the health of citizens and residents from the Corona virus.
Professor and consultant of family medicine, Professor Tawfiq Ahmed Khoja, said that the decision to stop the provision of shisha and molasses is positive and precautionary in light of the spread of the Corona virus globally, noting that shisha greatly affects human health.
Dr. Khaled Bawaked, a family and community medicine consultant, agrees with him, saying: “The decision is positive, precautionary and preventive, especially since hookah is used by more than one person, in addition to the inhalation of those sitting in a closed place in a polluted atmosphere, so the decision is sound and timely.”
Consultant Pediatrician, Dr. Nasr El-Din El-Sharif, believes that the decision aims to prevent the presence of any loophole or focus for the transmission of the emerging corona disease, stressing the importance of smokers and dependents being aware of the dangers of tobacco, and therefore avoiding risks enhances human health. For his part, consultant psychiatrist, Dr. Abu Bakr Banama, called not to believe any anonymous messages circulated by some about not eating or buying food from restaurants, indicating that the world is currently going through exceptional circumstances in light of the spread of Corona, and therefore the circulation of false messages is a matter of weak souls, Therefore, it is preferable not to pay attention to anonymous messages and to rely on official sources to receive news.
And the Ministry of Health had denied, a circulating post about calling on citizens and residents, not to eat or order from restaurants, against the background of the spread of the Corona virus.
