on his wedding night
Al-Watan learned that the nurse (B.K), who works at King Abdulaziz Hospital in Al-Mahajarah in Jeddah and is currently in intensive care as a result of being infected with the “Corona” virus, fell unconscious on his wedding night.
According to the testimony of a nurse working in the hospital, who refused to give his name, the patient left the hospital to contract his marriage in the village of Bani Katheer, and that he returned to the same hospital two days later with a strong chest infection in addition to a fever, which required examination to prove later that he had “Corona”.
For his part, a relative of the patient confirmed that the infection was transmitted to him before traveling to complete the wedding, indicating that a number of patients and auditors assured him that there were 3 suspected cases of infection inside the emergency departments.
In addition, hospital sources told Al-Watan that a number of nursing staff and doctors are preparing to sue Jeddah’s health affairs and file a complaint to human rights, due to the lack of health security in the hospital, neglecting the rights of the staff working in the first rows to receive infectious and deadly cases, and the lack of departments to isolate patients. Those with infectious diseases.
For her part, the Director of Infection Control, Dr. Aisha Metwally, denied the transmission of the virus to the nurse through an infection that came from inside the hospital. She told Al-Watan: "There are no cases of infection with the Corona virus in the hospital before or after the infection of the nurse, and when he was suspected of being infected, samples of his tears were sent, which later confirmed that he was infected with the virus."
Dr. Aisha said, "I challenge those who deny the existence of precautions available to prevent transmission of infection," and continued, "All necessary precautions to prevent transmission of infection are available in quantities and recorded in daily harvest records, and there are no other cases of the disease other than the case of the nurse, and this is the first case that appeared in government hospitals in Jeddah."
At the same time, the family of a citizen infected with the “Corona” virus in Al Hanakia Governorate, east of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and he was admitted to a hospital in Riyadh 4 weeks ago, received the news of his death. The elderly man died the day before yesterday of the disease, according to what his relatives confirmed to Al-Watan.
For his part, Acting Director of Health Affairs in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Region, Dr. Khaled Dhaifallah Al-Ghaidani, explained that two cases are still inpatients in two government hospitals, and they are in contact with former patients, indicating that they are currently receiving treatment and waiting for their health condition to improve. Al-Ghaidani indicated that the other contacts proved that they were not infected with the virus, and they left the hospital, explaining that there are currently no infections or suspicions among the contacts, after the disease appeared in the elderly who died in Riyadh.
