detection tips

To reach an advanced or late stage of pancreatic cancer means that the patient cannot reach a full recovery, but the probability of death increases after a short period, so some advice that helps to some extent in the early detection of the disease must be followed .. What are they?

Dr. Ahmed Selim, Professor of Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, explained that pancreatic cancer can be divided into 3 stages, which are:

1- A small tumor with surgical resection, the cure rate is good but it is fairly rare cases.

2- A large tumor that is not spread and not exclusively surgical. It is considered one of the late cases. Surgical intervention is not possible at this stage, but radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or both are used.

3- Diffuse tumor, a late condition similar to the previous one and is treated medically in the same way as in the second stage.

Selim emphasized that the second and third stage of pancreatic cancer cannot be cured permanently or a complete recovery, but the tumor growth is somewhat disrupted, and symptoms are controlled.

Early detection of the disease, especially in the first stage, increases the chances of complete recovery, so the oncology counselor advised people between 40 and 50 years old if they found any changes in digestion, abdominal pain or inability to eat for more than two weeks, the need to consult a doctor immediately .

Salim stressed the need to follow up with a specialist and not to resort to more than one doctor in the event of lack of improvement in the beginning, because the doctor develops a plan to diagnose the condition and often simple infections are taken into account at the beginning, until the diagnosis is reached gradually gradually, but the doctor changes after A short period leads to a delay in the diagnosis, because it often starts again.
