On behalf of the Director General of Health Affairs in the Eastern Province, Dr. Saleh Al-Salhi, the Assistant Director General of Health Affairs in the Eastern Province, Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Abdulkarim sponsored a pediatric surgery conference, which was held on Saturday 8 Rabi Thani 1435 AH, at the Sheraton Dammam Hotel and Tower entitled (Important Issues in Pediatric Surgery 2014). Where the conference was opened by presenting the curriculum vitae of the speakers, followed by a registered speech by Dr. Saleh Al-Salhi, then a tribute to Dr. Saleh Al-Salhi by the organizing committee, which was received by Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Abdul Karim, and then the Organizing Committee, distinguished consultants, and sponsoring companies were honored.
The ceremony included a short film on pediatric surgery, between the past and the present, which won the approval of everyone.
The head of the conference organizing committee, Dr. Muhammad Omar Al-Mughanam, head of the pediatric surgery department at the Maternity Hospital of the Children’s Hospital in Al-Ahsa, explained that the conference is the first of its kind in the eastern region, as it included a number of qualified consultants with experience and several specialized hospitals, military and university, in addition to the participation of some neighboring countries At the conference.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Ghannam also stated that the aim of the conference is to study the latest developments in pediatric surgery, participate and exchange experiences between doctors, and find the best means to train those enrolled in the pediatric surgery fellowship. This conference is the nucleus for starting more activities of this kind to reach the level of the Kingdom.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee also extended his thanks and appreciation to the Director of Health Affairs and his assistant for their unlimited support for pediatric surgery in the region and is an incentive to continue and hold such conferences again, God willing.
