Learn the causes of childbirth in the seventh month

Premature birth in the seventh month is common in many pregnancies, and some cases of premature birth may pass safely to both the pregnant woman and the fetus if the pregnant woman follows up well with her doctor.

To find out more about that, Madam Net met with a consultant gynecologist, obstetric, infertile and gynecological laparoscopic surgeon, head of the gynecology and obstetrics department at King Abdulaziz Hospital and Oncology Center Dr. "Intisar Ragheb Al-Taylouni" to talk to us about this case.

Reasons for giving birth in the “seventh” month

The causes of premature birth can be divided into two parts

1. The causes of a pregnant mother''s condition leading to premature birth.

2. The causes of the infection of the expectant mother require the doctor to intervene and give birth early.

Among the causes that affect a pregnant woman and lead to premature birth

1. Low weight and malnutrition leading to acute anemia.

2. The age of a pregnant mother: A pregnant woman at the age of 16 or over 40 years is often more likely than others to give birth early before her last month.

3. Smoking often negatively affects a pregnant woman, as the smoked mother is more likely to give birth early.

4. The presence of birth defects in the uterus, such as an intrauterine septum, and the uterus with two horns, which causes pressure on the fetus, so it is sufficient reason for premature birth.

5. The presence of a heavy pregnancy in the womb such as twin, or the presence of excess water around the fetus.

6. Tension and the psychological state of the pregnant woman also play a role in premature birth.

7. A twin pregnancy exposes the mother to fatigue as a result of her increasing weight, which increases with increasing fetal weight.

8. The mother’s long travel or going out on tiring trips.

As for the reasons that may happen to the mother and require the intervention of the doctor and giving birth early:

1. High blood pressure with albumin in the urine, or what is called "preeclampsia", as this is a serious disease that requires the birth of a pregnant woman at once to avoid complications from pressure on her.

2. The presence of diabetes or gestational diabetes, which is not under control, as waiting for the last weeks may lead to the death of the fetus, and therefore the doctor is forced to generate it early to save the fetus.

3. The explosion of the water bag early and the presence of signs indicating the presence of internal inflammation in the womb are also matters that require the birth of the fetus early.

4. The presence of a birth defect in the fetus, especially in the urinary system, where there may be an obstruction in the drainage of urine in the fetus and thus may affect and damage the kidneys so the doctor is forced to give birth early to treat this defect.

2. The feeling of abdominal cramps continuously with decreasing time intervals.

Recommendations

1. Take the necessary precautions to avoid its occurrence and follow up with the doctor periodically.

2. In the absence of a clear cause confirming the occurrence of premature birth, a solution is installed for the pregnant woman that contains substances that reduce contractions of the uterus and thus reduce the incidence of premature labor.
