A medical team returned the liver of a new-born baby one day to his stomach through a 5-inch-long congenital opening due to the absence of the abdominal wall, which led to the entire liver leaving the abdominal cavity. The consultant pediatric and endoscopic surgeon at King Abdullah Hospital in Bisha Governorate, where the operation was performed by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Maawi, said that this case is one of the rare cases accompanied by a high rate of death during or after the surgery.
Due to the inability of the newborn to breathe normally after returning the liver to the abdomen, or because the opening of the abdominal wall is not able to repair.
While the general supervisor of the hospital, Hussein Al-Ruwaily, indicated that the child was able to take milk naturally after the operation, and his health condition is stable.
