The introduction of modern technology in surgery
Armed forces hospitals in the northwestern region began to introduce advanced modern technology, which is the use of computers in surgical navigation to perform orthopedic operations in modern artificial joints.
The Director of the Armed Forces Hospital in the Northwestern Region, Brigadier General Doctor Ghaleb bin Harib, confirmed that this advanced step came with the grace of God and then with the support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince / may God protect them / indicating that this advanced device provides a complex navigation system that identifies bone parts The knee and its dimensions with extreme accuracy so that he suggests to the surgeon the work plan and the size of the prosthetic knee to be used, useful that this technique is used by major university hospitals in Europe and America.
Brigadier Doctor Bin Hareeb stated that two surgeries were performed on the artificial knee last week by the first consultant orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Fayez bin Abdullah Filemban, who, God willing, will train orthopedic doctors on this technique.
He stated that, God willing, the hospital will soon start introducing device applications in complex fracture surgery and brain and neurosurgery, including the spine, nose and ear surgery.
