Includes distribution of one million advisory bulletins in Jeddah
This morning, Saturday, a huge awareness campaign will be launched to raise awareness of “dengue fever” at the level of Jeddah Governorate, through the Health Awareness Section in the Primary Health Care Department in Jeddah Governorate.
According to Dr. Ashraf Abdul Qayyum Amir, Assistant Director of Health Affairs for Primary Health Care in Jeddah Governorate, this massive campaign was launched after the completion of the necessary preparations for it, and it was taken into account to diversify its means to include the distribution of one million awareness pockets containing simple information about the disease and methods of prevention. It will be distributed in coordination with all health centers, government and private hospitals, government departments, schools and universities, and many private sector establishments.
And d. Amir said that an awareness-raising television movie has been prepared and is in its final stages. It will be broadcasted in cooperation with the Ministry of Information «God willing» once it is completed and delivered to them, while fifty thousand disease awareness messages will be sent by e-mail, and fifty thousand awareness messages via mobile to all residents of Jeddah Governorate.
He also explained that coordination is underway regarding the organization of two scientific seminars on "dengue fever", the first for health observers, educators and health educators in primary health care centers, and "with God''s help" will be launched next Monday at the training center in Al-Balad Health Center, and the second for the contractors committee in the Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Chamber Industrial trade in Jeddah, in addition to a number of awareness lectures in schools.
He indicated that the Directorate of Health Affairs in Jeddah Governorate has begun to coordinate with the Jeddah Governorate Municipality to transmit awareness messages through road panels to the general public, in order to deliver awareness messages to the largest possible number of them.
