The time of emergence of children''s teeth

The first teeth of the child appear at the age of six months in most children, and it often appears in the form of a small white spot on the gums in the front lower side of the gums, and the appearance of the teeth may be delayed after this time. Parents fear because this is normal, but if the appearance of the first tooth is delayed beyond the age of one year, it is preferable to see a pediatrician, but the emergence of the child''s teeth continues until the age of two years in most children as the teeth development completes at this stage, and some children may be delayed a few additional months, which is It is natural and not a cause for fear.

Advice for the mother during the teething stage

At this stage or two months before it, i.e. at the age of four months, the mother may notice that her child has started to become irritable and upset, especially at night, and he may bite things around him and may cry a lot, so we advise the mother to do the following:

Giving the child something cold like the teether found in pharmacies, and it is preferable to put it in the refrigerator before giving it to the child so that his gums cool down and the pain subsides.

Grease the gums with teething gel whenever the child feels pain, and this is after consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

If the pain intensifies, the child can be given a dose of paracetamol that is appropriate for the child''s age, with attention to the number of doses appropriate for this age as well as the amount of each dose, and this can be asked about the doctor or pharmacist.

It is possible to feed the child some cold milk if he is over four months old, and he can also be given a piece of cucumber or cold carrots, taking care to watch the child so that he does not suffocate.

The child may develop a high body temperature, and if the matter is repeated more than once during the day, you must see a doctor, and he may have an infection causing him a high temperature.

It is preferable not to use medicines that are said to be intended for dental pain because there is no medical evidence to prove the ability of these medicines to get rid of tooth pain.
