from non-relatives

In a distinctive step, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, a public institution in Jeddah, established a non-relative reciprocal kidney transplant program in order to speed up the process of obtaining a matching kidney and spare patients the waiting list for transplantation.

This program has been able to increase the number of transplants for patients who do not have blood type or immune compatibility with relatives.

In a new achievement, for the first time, 3 total transplants were performed under the program (reciprocal kidney transplantation) simultaneously, using 6 operating rooms. The operations were completed with complete success for 6 patients (donors and recipients).

His Excellency the Executive General Supervisor, Dr. Majid Al-Fayyad, reassured the health of the six patients admitted to the specialty of Jeddah after transplanting new kidneys to them, recipients and donors.

He thanked the medical and technical staff for this achievement in the path of the specialist, which comes with the support of the wise leadership, may God protect it.

It is worth noting that all patients are in good health, praise be to God
