Joint replacement surgery is not an easy procedure.

And our country, praise be to God, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has sent us to Canada and America in order to learn the best of what science has attained, to transfer and apply what we have learned there, and to serve our country, even if part of what the dear and generous nation has offered us.

I ask God Almighty to protect our country from all harm.

I am Dr. Abdul Zahir Saati, one of the orthopedic surgeons who have a specialization in joint replacement surgery from the University of Toronto, Canada, and I have worked, praise be to God, a good number of knee and hip joints replacements after the grace of God Almighty.

And I heard that there is a new and innovative way to work the knee prosthesis without cutting the tissues and muscles surrounding the knee joint and doing the operation - the one-day operation.

I, praise be to God, annually visit America and Canada to keep abreast of the development of modern science there.

Where in America and in Canada it is difficult to do the artificial joint a one-day operation, except in specialized places, and home visits are available 24 hours a day, and these centers are very few and very expensive.

And in our country there are many reasons

1- Preparing the patient from the social point of view before the operation, for the success of the operation and the continuation of the joint for the longest possible period (15-20 God willing) and informing him that the patient has to change the nature of his life at home. And eating at a table and avoiding squares on the floor

2- It is necessary to choose the appropriate patient for the operation from a health point of view (regulating sugar and pressure, making sure that the heart can withstand anesthesia or not, and making sure that the spine is intact, in order to be administered anesthesia).

3- Choosing the right place to perform the operation, and the artificial joint operation cannot be performed in any hospital or center, in order to avoid infections, as it is one of the worst problems facing orthopedic surgeons.

There are specialized hospitals, specialized centers and doctors who specialize in performing such operations

4- As for not cutting the tissues and loosening the muscles surrounding the knee, this is not possible, as it must be done with high precision and return it in a scientific and highly skilled way.

5- It is not possible to perform the operation a one-day operation due to the lack of tools for home visits over a 24-hour period, and the patient may complain from now after the operation. He must be given some painkillers and sedatives, and I personally keep the patient two to three days after the operation in order to reassure my heart.

6- Physical therapy and its follow-up by the surgeon is very, very important, especially the first 6 weeks.

While studying in Canada, I learned that a skilled surgeon always lives with his patients.

7- The job is possible for anyone who has an operation, but the important thing is after the operation and following up on the patient, even if after a while.
