In an operation that is considered the first of its kind at the governorate level, a medical team at the Maternity and Children Hospital in Al-Ahsa recently performed a bladder inversion operation for a newborn in the hospital.
The operation was performed under the leadership of consultant pediatric surgeon Dr. Muhammad Omar Al-Mughanem, Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery, who performed the correction and repair of a newborn''s bladder inversion 24 hours after birth, as it is considered a rare case (1 in 100,000 newborns).
For its part, Al-Ahsa Health clarified that such operations are performed in specialized international centers with experience, so that the maternity hospital would record an achievement that would be added to the records of excellence and success it achieved.
