"Saudi women" into their homes with unknown source injections

Specialists issued their warnings about the increasing phenomenon of women of different Arab and foreign nationalities visiting homes in the capital, Riyadh, with the aim of injecting them with cosmetic injections with materials from companies and factories of unknown origin and in multiple areas of the body such as the face, hands and buttocks.

They said in statements to Al-Riyadh: “What is striking is that they use unknown materials and deceive women that they work in well-known centers, and they are identified by mobile, and they change their numbers from time to time, and they do not answer any number until they trust it, and use unauthorized materials. The source is unknown, and the method of injecting them is superficial and in the wrong place and makes it difficult to deal with such materials, they said.

Dr. Khaled Rashid Al-Abd Al-Wahab, a consultant of skin diseases and surgery, laser and hair transplantation, a member of the Food and Drug Authority, explained that there are many cases, and he looked at many of them, and said: “After the injection, many problems appear on women, including a rise in temperature of up to 40 degrees, and the injected place is hardened. It is hard, dark and discolored, with large and small abscesses, pus, and pain in the injected area, and many symptoms appear that may be from the frequent use of antibiotics, such as vomiting, problems with digestion, severe weight loss, liver problems and other symptoms, and he added: "Most cases are difficult to solve, and that." Because any surgical intervention will cause more deformity. "

Dr. Al-Abd al-Wahhab gave an example of a 30-year-old woman who was injected by a non-specialized Arab woman in her buttocks, after which she suffers from many problems, including high temperature, and he prescribed many antibiotics.

He continued: "I cannot describe the injected area and describe its deformity, as it became abnormally hard and the patient visited a number of government hospitals that did not find a satisfactory solution and is now thinking of suicide."

And he went on: "Another 17-year-old patient brought her another Arab woman, her cousin, to inject her, and her suffering began with high temperature and hardening in the back area, and she was admitted to many hospitals several times and took a lot of antibiotics and resulted in many problems with digestion and much loss. Of her weight and still suffers from problems that are difficult to solve. "

For his part, Dr. Saad Al-Ajlan, a consultant in dermatology and surgery and a consultant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, stated that the danger of this matter lies not only in non-specialists performing this wrong behavior, but also in the injection of harmful or expired substances, which leads to dire results and their consequences.

He added, "In addition to the damages that may result from injecting non-medical materials, there are negative damages that result from injecting medical materials in the wrong places. The person who injects the filler substance must be familiar with the structural composition, for example when using injections to treat dark circles." Under the eyes, vascular injection in that area should be avoided, which may cause scarring or vision loss in the worst case. "

In addition, Dr. Rushoud Shakraoui, Vice President of the Consumer Protection Association, called for caution and non-compliance behind these false allegations, considering that they are fraud and fraud, and the exploitation of a sophisticated medical profession, "the profession of cosmetology," once superficial information is obtained.

Dr. Shakraoui pointed out that there is a center to receive communications in the Consumer Protection Association, with the aim of limiting the spread of such abuses and prosecuting violators, indicating that the association has the idea of organizing a seminar entitled The Hidden Face of Cosmetics, which will be announced soon.
