Stem cell transplantation or bone marrow transplantation aims to transfer healthy cells to replace diseased cells and are used to treat conditions that affect blood cells such as leukemia or lymphoma, which are two types of blood tumors.

In a peripheral blood stem cell transplant, healthy cells are obtained from donor blood.

And it is obtained from the bone marrow located in the cavity of some of the bones of the body in the case of a bone marrow transplant (shown in the following picture).

Then the stem cells obtained from the donor are transferred to the patient via intravenous injection, so that the new normal cells can form components and healthy blood cells

Stem Cells..

Stem cells are cells that are formed in the bone marrow to produce the various components and cells of blood, namely:

Red blood cells and contain the protein hemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood.

White blood cells that defend the body against microbes and diseases

Platelets.

Stem cell transplantation involves destroying diseased red blood cells and replacing them with stem cells obtained from healthy donor blood or bone marrow.
