one day using "Da Vinci Robot SI" technology
A medical team in King Fahd Medical City was able to perform three urinary tract operations in one day, using the developed Robotic Devanshi SI, using the one-hole method. According to the head of the surgical specialties departments and the head of the medical team, Dr. Maher Moazen, this type of operation was previously performed, but with difficulty and limitations, it is currently overcome through this technology that has achieved King Fahd Medical City previously used at the Gulf level.
Muezzin explained that the operations were cosmetic, and that their procedure would be complicated by using traditional laparoscopic surgery, pointing out that the presence of the robot and the results of its use were better in terms of aesthetics, less pain for the patient, faster recovery, and acceleration of his return to work, which means less stay in The hospital, and the ability to accommodate larger numbers of patients.
Dr. Maher stated that one of the patients was suffering from pain in the lower left side as a result of a large cyst pressing on the pelvis of the kidney, which was removed, while the other two cases were a blockage in the kidney pelvis resulting from congenital narrowing, which caused severe pain and affected the kidney function. Until the first operation took two hours, the second two hours and the third four hours, during which the area was reconstructed, enlarged, the affected parts removed, and the kidney pelvis reduced.
He added: We used the one-hole method only, which is what made us, by the grace of God Almighty, get ahead of the country in which we were trained in these operations, as they use two holes in their procedure. What distinguishes one opening is the aesthetic aspect first, and secondly, the pain associated with one wound is not the same as those associated with three or four wounds, as well as the patient’s satisfaction and the speed of his discharge from the hospital and the exercise of his life much better.
It is noteworthy that the medical team included Dr. Ali bin Mahfouz, consultant urologist, Dr. Ahmed Al Hazmi, assistant resident doctor, Dr. Mazen Al Sahyabi, consultant anesthesia, and Dr. Khaled Al Shuaibi, consultant anesthesia.
