The Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment participated in the first forum of specific specialized Arab federations at the headquarters of the League of Arab States under the patronage of His Excellency Minister / Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and held under the title: “The Role of Arab Federations in the System of Joint Arab Action in the Next Stage.” The forum was opened on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 with the speech of His Excellency the First Counselor / Mohamed Khair Abdel Qader - Director of the Department of Arab Organizations and Federations at the League of Arab States, followed by a speech by His Excellency Dr. Kamal Hassan Ali, Assistant Secretary General of the League and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector, President of the Forum, followed by a speech His Excellency Minister / Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, the sponsor of the forum.
Among the most prominent objectives of the first forum of the specialized qualitative Arab federations:
Determining the roles required of specialized Arab federations as Arab expertise houses within the framework of the Arab work system in the next stage.
Documenting channels of communication and coordination with the federations in line with the goals and directions of the Arab League system.
Consider increasing the interaction of Arab member states with the specialized Arab federations.
Crystallizing ideas and visions that clarify the private sector''s contributions to solving some of the problems facing the Arab region and its countries at this stage.
Activating the working mechanisms of Arab federations to achieve the goals for which they were established.
The forum dealt with four main themes
1. The required role of Arab federations in facing the challenges facing the Arab region.
2. The role of the Arab federations and highlighting the extent of their contribution and giving in activating the system of joint Arab action.
3. The difficulties and challenges facing the work of the specialized Arab federations.
4. Proposals and initiatives to develop and activate the work of the specialized Arab federations.
