The new medical technology system known as (ILAD) to help patients with liver failure to restore their functions normally. EliteDoctorOnline Gulf Care, in cooperation with the American company, Vital Therapy, launched a new medical technology system known as (ILAD) to help patients with liver failure to restore Its functions work normally. The introduction of Elad technology in the Kingdom is considered a step forward in the field of health care, noting that the Kingdom will be one of the first to provide this type of health care in the Middle East in the near future.

The ILAD device is a device that contains biological material that supports normal liver functions and is very similar to dialysis machines .. The technique of “ILAD” uses human liver cells to help the body carry out metabolic processes of building and demolishing and facilitating the normal disposal of waste products. Also, this technique often helps reduce the need for a liver transplant.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Omair, President of the Saudi Society of Liver Diseases and Transplantation, indicated that the presence of this technology in the Kingdom needs a gradual application and an intensive study. Dr. Al-Omair also mentioned that the study and serious cooperation can together make this project a success in the Kingdom, as he said: “Our participation in this project is to provide scientific support” to the company providing this technology in order to provide good health care for patients with liver failure in a somewhat similar way to treating patients with kidney failure.

Dr. Al-Omair also explained that the Saudi Society of Liver Diseases and Transplantation is two years old and is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Medical Specialties. And that the members of this association are very keen to raise the level of scientific research in this regard, exchange experiences and enhance community awareness of this problem in a scientific way that serves everyone.

As for the device and its marketing in the Kingdom''s hospitals, Dr. Al-Omair indicated that the association will cooperate without doubt with Gulf Care International in this regard. But you must take into account the presence of this device in the right places where there are frequent patients suffering from liver failure.

Then he added: The company supplying the device and the association may not be able to properly market it, so we need cooperation and support from the Ministry of Health to find the most suitable hospitals for this device.
