performing (46) pediatric surgeries, an increase of 91% over the past three months
The medical team in the Royal Commission Health Services in Jubail was able to perform (46) operations for pediatric surgery, an increase of 91% during the past 3 months, as all these operations helped save the lives of newborns and premature babies, after which they were able to practice their lives normally.
For his part, consultant pediatric surgery at the health services of the Royal Commission in Jubail, Dr. Muhammad bin Omar Al-Mughannam, said that the procedure of advanced surgeries for pediatric surgery by laparoscopic surgery has recently been activated.
Dr. Muhammad Al-Mughnam mentioned that some of the operations that were performed, including an inguinal hernia operation for a one-month-old girl, were performed by a 2 mm microscope, and a hiatal hernia repair operation was completed for a premature baby. The nose was made in which the stomach was folded and a gastric feeding tube was made endoscopically. As a result, the child lived a normal life.
He added that one of the advanced surgeries that was done is to save the life of a child suffering from intestinal torsion and flatulence, in which the intestine was removed and connected to the rectum through the endoscope.
It is worth noting that the Pediatric Surgery Department at the Royal Commission Hospital in Jubail receives all cases of pediatric surgery and works at a high capacity to serve the beneficiaries.
